Home Depot

Lately, it can be difficult at times taking Kennedy places. Out of nowhere, she may throw a tantrum if she doesn't get her way. The terrible two's must be early for us because I don't see how it can get any worse! However, there is one place that she is a perfect angel which is Home Depot! This is rather shocking, but I guess it is because she gets to ride in the cool orange Tony Stewart car cart. She had the best time behind the wheel of the car on a recent Home Depot trip with her Mimi and Mommy.

Memorial Day Weekend in Hot Springs

I have not been very good about updating my blog lately, but I hope to do better. We spent Memorial Day weekend in Hot Springs. Despite all the rain, we did manage to enjoy some nice weather for one day. We took Kennedy out on a boat ride, but she fell asleep in about 5 minutes after leaving the dock. We also went to visit Jim Daddy and Gigi where Kennedy enjoyed spending time in the swimming pool. On the Thursday before Memorial weekend (May 21), Trent and I celebrated 4 years of marriage. However, we did not officially celebrate the occasion until the weekend where we had grandparents to babysit. Kennedy got left at the house with Trent's parents, and we enjoyed an excellent meal at Backporch Grill followed by martinis at Martinis on the Bay. The rain throughout the weekend was pretty miserable, but overall, it was very relaxing. We definitely caught up on some sleep! Another big thing! Kennedy is 14 months old today!

Fun Time at Touch A Truck!

Earlier this week, we had a pink eye scare. Thankfully, it only turned out to be an eye infection. We went to the doctor, and they prescribed us an ointment to put on Kennedy's eyes. Evidently, she could be developing allergies from being outside, and when she was rubbing her eyes, it caused an infection. She didn't seem to think it was a big deal, but her little eyes got all gooped up. She does not like it when we applied the medicine.
Mimi came to town on Thursday for a visit. We went to the Razorback baseball game on Thursday night, but Kennedy was a little restless. We didn't get to stay very long. Kennedy and Mimi spent the day together on Friday. She loves it when Mimi comes to town because she gets spoiled rotten. They played all day and went for stroller rides around the neighborhood. Saturday was the most eventful part of the weekend. We woke up early for our Little Gym class, and then headed to the Pinnacle Promenade for the Junior League of NWA Touch A Truck Event. Kids of all ages can climb, discover and explore vehicles of all types including construction vehicles, emergency vehicles, motorcycles and big rigs. Kids can also build items with the Home Depot crew or talk with the Chick-fil-a Cow and Strike with the Northwest Arkansas Naturals. Kennedy was terrified of Strike! Proceeds from this event helps fund various projects sponsored by the Junior League of Northwest Arkansas. We always want to support the organizations for which we are involved. Luckily, the rain held off on the day of the event, and the turn out was a huge success.

Mother's Day 2009

Today was my second Mother's day, and so far, it has been great. I woke up this morning to Trent and Kennedy smiling down at me with a big surprise. I had a massage scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at Massage Envy, and they gave me two tickets to see the Broadway production of Legally Blonde the Musical at the Walton Arts Center in July. Plus, I got to sleep a little longer than usual since Trent took care of Kennedy this morning. After lunch, we spent a little time outdoors and headed to the Pinnacle Promenade mall for Kennedy to play. We spent a little time at the playground and rode the train and carousel. The day has been wonderful, and Kennedy is finally down for a nap. This year, I have had a great Mother's Day!

Paintball Party

On Friday, Kennedy and I drove down to Little Rock for the night. My friend Josh E. was having a surprise 30th birthday party yesterday at Paintball Arkansas in Conway. Trent had to work, but Uncle James decided to come with me. After arriving at the party, I made a quick decision that I was not going to be play paintball. Besides Josh's fiancee Traci, I would be the only girl. Thus, I would have been the easy target. Instead, I decided to sit out and be the party photographer. Everyone seemed to have a great time. I did manage to get hit once with a paintball, but luckily, it just bounced off me and didn't explode. About an hour after the party, Kennedy and I headed back up to Rogers. It was a quick trip down to Little Rock, but we wanted to be there for our friend's big 3-0 birthday. Happy Birthday Josh! Also, check out the birthday boy's battle wounds. This is one good reason why I did not play!

Latest with James...

I am not been doing very well at keeping up with my blog. However, for those who are curious about my brother James, he is doing great. In April, he got his wish to go to see Jimmy Buffet in concert, and he went on a relaxation trip with my mom and his roommate Rich to St. Thomas. He is in a remission status now with his leukemia, and he started back to work this week. Thanks to everyone again for thinking and praying for our family these past couple of months. We are so grateful to have James back to normal and healthy!
