Possible Move Out of the ICU

James did not get hooked up to the leukapheresis machine today. We are hoping that he won't have to be hooked up to it anymore if his white blood cell count stays below 100,000. In addition, his dosage of the medicine, Gleevec, will be increased tomorrow. This means that he could be moved out of the ICU tomorrow and into a regular hospital room. Once in the regular room, he will begin physical therapy on his leg, and he will be reducing the amount of pain medicine. The doctor told him today that he could now have food from outside the hospital, and his first request to my mom was candy. I think she was going to give him some Starburst. Hopefully, he will eat the candy in small amounts. If you are planning on coming to visit James in the next couple of days, you could get asked special food requests if you let him know ahead of time that you are coming. Evidently, he is sick and tired of the hospital food. Please pray that his white blood cell count stays below 100,000.
