Kennedy's 1st Birthday Party

Today was an eventful day with Kennedy's 1st birthday party in Little Rock. Trent went with me to pick up Kennedy's birthday cake that I ordered. We were so pleased with how it turned out. I special ordered a two tier cake with the top layer being a giant cupcake with a fondant candle. The cake looked fabulous! My mom and cousin Bill were left in charge of helping with the birthday decorations for the tables, and they did an amazing job. Everything coordinated beautifully! My friend Amanda Reed (Bibs & Cribs) made a beautiful banner for the birthday girl! The only mishap was the loss of the pre-ordered balloons that are somewhere up in the sky now, but we had a back up plan with my balloon helium take from Walmart. We could not have a party without balloons! Kennedy loves balloons! We were pleased with all of our family that came to the party which included great grandparents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins. Today was also the first day that my brother has seen Kennedy since before he was in the hospital with leukemia. We are happy that he could be here today! I think that he was shocked at how much she has grown, and he was completely impressed with her walking skills along with all of our other family members. Our family and Kennedy had a wonderful time. She got some great birthday gifts! The birthday cake was not as exciting as we would have all hoped! She just is not that excited about sweets! In fact, she did not like the texture of the icing on her fingers, and she was completely uninterested in her cake. I guess that is what happens when the only sweet thing you have ever eaten is teddy grahams. It is hard to believe that our baby girl is already 1 year old. This past year has flown by so fast.
