Weekend Update

We had a fun weekend. Mimi came into town to see us. Kennedy got to show off her walking skills even though she still wants to walk holding my finger. Any ideas on how I can get her to let go of my finger and walk on her own? Saturday morning, we all went to Kennedy's Little Gym class. I don't know if Kennedy woke up on the wrong side of her crib that morning, but she was a cranky little thing. She only wanted to do what she wanted to do. She refused to participate in the skills of the week. Oh well! Maybe, she will be more interested next time. On Saturday afternoon, we took a trip to the mall. In the food court area at the Pinnacle Promenade, there is now a carousel that you can ride. Evidently, it was brought up from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and was restored. Kennedy loved watching everyone ride, but when it was her turn, I don't think she enjoyed it too much. She was fine sitting on the horse, but she wanted nothing to do with it once it started going up and down.

We went back to the mall on Sunday because we had scheduled a photo session with the Picture People. We wanted to get a few 1 year pictures since her birthday is on Thursday. Before the pictures, Kennedy rode the carousel again with Trent. This time, they sat on the bench, and it seemed to go more smoothly. Kennedy's 1 year photos turned out great, but it was the most exhausting photo session ever. She would not sit still, and at one point, she almost crawled out the front door of the studio. This past weekend, she was definitely in a mood. Not only was our Little Gym class interesting, she also pitched a fit when Trent would not give her an entire pretzel stick. She was not patient enough for us to break it off into small pieces for her. For those of you who think my daughter is a perfect angel, her are a few pictures to prove she has a moody side to her. They are before and after pictures of her fit over the pretzel stick. She is quite the character! Overall, we had a great weekend, and we enjoyed spending quality time with our baby girl! We are looking forward to her 1st birthday on Thursday and her party on Saturday with our family!
