Doctor Update for James

James has appreciated all of the friends who have stopped by to visit him at the hospital. He said that the visits allow him something to look forward to throughout the day. Today, we received an update from his doctor. His white blood cell count is down slightly to 534,000, but it needs to be down to a more normal level around 5,000. However, his red blood cell count is now done with a haemaglobin of 8. They began the six hour dialysis treatment again today around 1:00 p.m. In a couple of hours, they will check his blood to monitor his blood cell count. If the red blood cell count does not improve or continues to lower, they will be looking into performing a blood transfusion. He seems to be in good spirits, and he was able to get some sleep last night.
