Monday Afternoon Update

There is still no word on what the white blood cell count is at today. During the scheduled MRI, they will be looking at his spine and lumbar area to see what is causing James all the pressure and pain in his back and legs. There is still a concern that there may be some blockage which the MRI will determine. So, the are going to give him a low dose of blood thinner. They have also decided that he needs a central IV line because he keeps losing all the IVs in his arm. The central IV line is a catheter inserted into a large vein or within the right atrium of the heart. This type of IV line can be left in place for longer periods of time. They are hoping to hook him back up to the machine this evening for another six hours to continue the leukapheresis process. However, they are in search of a part for the machine. Evidently, they have been searching for this part since yesterday. Tonight, it doesn't look like he may have a good evening in case anyone was planning on stopping by hoping to visit him.
