Saturday Night Update
No new update tonight on the white blood cell count. However, we are hearing that once James gets done with the leukapheresis process with the machine that he will get moved out of the ICU into a regular hospital room. Kennedy might finally get to see her Uncle James. This will be once his white blood cell count gets down to around 100,000. They will increase the dosage of the Gleevec at this time. His red blood cell count continues to be a little low, and he has been getting blood transfusions in the evening ranging from either one to two units of blood. They are still concerned about the swelling in his legs, and he is trying to keep it elevated. Also, they have continued to give him the blood thinners. He is in good spirits, and he even got on the internet today to check out CNN.com! It started snowing late this afternoon, and it was pretty watching it from his hospital room window. This is typical Arkansas weather with 60 degrees one day and snow the next. My mom and I didn't go to the hospital this evening during the 8:00-10:00 p.m. visiting hours. James decided to go to bed early. Plus, we were both really tired.
